Parren Mitchell for Congress

From 1970 to 1986, I served as legal counsel and political advisor to Congressman Parren Mitchell, the first African American elected to Congress from Maryland. In this role, I provided legal guidance on legislative matters and helped shape political strategy throughout his time in office. Working closely with Congressman Mitchell, I supported his efforts to advance civil rights, economic equity, and opportunities for minority-owned businesses. Our collaboration played a key role in strengthening his legislative impact and deepening his connection to the communities he represented.
