Joseph Howard for Judge 1968

In 1968, I served as the campaign manager for Judge Joseph Howard’s groundbreaking election to the Supreme Bench of Baltimore City. His victory marked the first time a Black person was elected city-wide in Baltimore. I led the strategic planning, coordinated outreach efforts, and managed a grassroots campaign that emphasized both competence and representation. Judge Howard’s election was a historic breakthrough in the city’s political landscape and helped open the door for broader African American participation in Baltimore’s judiciary and civic leadership.
